Parents, family members, and friends are welcome to join their student at Transfer START.

About 25% of our transfer program bring a parent, family member, or friend with them to the program. Parent, family member, or friend have the option to attend a separate 1-hour program during the day that covers a variety of topics.

Topics of the Transfer Parent & Family Session include but are not limited to:

  • Learn about resources related to health care, safety, and on campus housing
  • Learn about academic support services
  • Learn the process for student billing and payments
  • Attend the academic college presentation with your student
  • Have the option to attend a variety of workshops based on interest

Participation costs

There is a cost of $20.00 per family member to participate in the Transfer START program. 

This fee covers the cost of food, materials, and additional staffing. This fee is required regardless of how much or little the parent, family member, or friend participates in the program.
